Exciting News for Catering at Warsash Sailing Club – we’re recruiting!
The Executive Committee are thrilled to announce that we are searching for a new in-house Catering Manager and Chef.
Are you passionate about food, hospitality, and sailing? We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Catering Manager & Chef to join our team at Warsash Sailing Club. As the heart of our club’s culinary offerings, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our catering services while creating an exceptional dining experience for our members and guests.
Position: Catering Manager & Chef
Location: Warsash Sailing Club
Hours: Full-time, Seasonal/Year-round (flexible based on club’s needs). Including evenings and weekends. Closed Monday and Tuesday. Other options will be considered.
Salary: Up to £35k depending on experience, with long term potential for a profit share scheme.
Key Responsibilities:
- Catering Operations Management: Oversee all aspects of food preparation, menu planning, and service for club events, members’ dining, and special occasions.
- Chef Duties: Prepare high-quality, fresh meals appropriate to a sailing club’s seasonal menu, emphasising local ingredients and seasonal produce.
- Staff Management: Hire, train, and supervise kitchen and front-of-house staff, ensuring excellent service and food quality.
- Budget & Inventory: Manage food costs, ordering supplies, and maintaining inventory to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Customer Experience: Ensure a welcoming atmosphere for members and guests, handling customer feedback and ensuring satisfaction.
- Event Catering: Coordinate and provide catering for sailing events, regattas, and private functions, working closely with club management to meet client needs.
Ideal Candidate:
- Proven experience as a Chef and Catering Manager (ideally in a similar club or hospitality setting) and / or holds relevant qualification for the role.
- Strong culinary skills with a passion for fresh, high-quality food.
- Exceptional organizational and management abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lead a team, inspire staff, and maintain a positive working environment.
- Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
- A love for sailing and an appreciation of the club’s community is a bonus.
